The Craft Craze
Topp’s Hops is a Canadian Hop Farm that was started in 2014 on the Topper family farm in Abbotsford, BC. The vision was to build a hop farm scaled for small local craft brewers without relying on outside harvesting, processing or distribution - a direct farm to brewer supply chain.
We spent some time learning, some more time making changes, and even more time watching the market make changes. But with the knowledge we have gained, the relationships we have made, and the infrastructure we have invested in, we can honestly say we are hop farmers and we are here to stay.
On Our Way Now
As of 2026 Topp's currently grows and processes 18 commercially available Canadian grown varieties supporting over 90 brewing partners. While working in conjunction with other partnered farms, NextGen Hops and the KPU's Applied Genomics Centre, Topp's stays at the leading edge of innovation in the Canadian Hop Industry. The work being done will bring new varieties of hops to the market, bred to be agronomically better and aromatically more unique to the terroir of British Columbia.
Our success growing and processing established varieties and the efforts of innovating new varieties gives us a positive outlook on maintaining and expanding our hop production.
