Bitter Gold is a new Topp’s Homegrown varietal release for 2025, originally developed by the USDA and released in 1999 with lineage including Brewer’s Gold and Comet. It delivers crisp, clean bitterness with minimal aroma when used early, while late additions reveal a bright, fruit-forward character supported by an herbal backbone and expressive oils. Canadian-grown Bitter Gold is a great fit for Pale Ales, lagers, pilsners, golden ales, and more - adapting easily to both hop-forward and balanced styles.
