EU Hallertau Blanc Hops - T90 Pellets
- In 2012, Hüll farm in the German Hallertau region introduced Hallertau Blanc to the world, a hop variety grown specifically for use in American-style ales.
- With a fruity flavor profile and wine-like qualities, it is reminiscent of gooseberry and grass, much like Sauvignon Blanc.
- The aroma is equally complex, with a blend of cassis, elderflower, grapes, grapefruit, and lemongrass. Additional notes of passionfruit, pineapple, and gooseberry have also been detected in testing.
Brewing Applications
To fully capitalize on the high myrcene fraction, whirlpooling and dry hopping techniques are especially effective when using hops like EU Hallertau Blanc Hops. This particular hop variety has a strong tropical profile that pairs well with a range of styles such as IPA, Belgian ales, wheat beer, and Brett fermentations – similar to southern hemisphere hops.
