Canadian Grown Galena Hops - Whole Cone

  • Galena is the result of open pollination from the Brewer's Gold hop variety.
  • Agricultural scientist Richard R. Romanko officially selected it in 1968. Galena is primarily used commercially for its unique role as the sole hop in pale lagers such as Corona Extra.

Brewing Applications: 

Canadian Grown Galena hops offer a delightful fruity flavor, with clean and pleasant hints of citrus. To achieve a stronger aroma of blackcurrant, some brewers have found that boiling smaller quantities of Galena hops and adding them later in the process is more effective.
